Dudhsagar Waterfall

Dudh Sagar fall is now a famous tourist place in Goa and is one of the highest water falls in India. It is counted among the hundred highest water falls in the world. The splendid fall is situated in Mollem, in South Goa connected to the border of Karnataka.
In Konkani language ' Dudh Sagar' literally means sea of milk. Its height is 306 meters and the width is 30 meters. The area is covered with dense forest and this abundance of greenery is beyond words. It is a treat for the bird watcher. Taking a quick dip in this refreshing water is possible however diving is completely forbidden. For trek lovers, trekking through the forest trails could be exciting and for the rock climbers, there is a chance to climb the steep rocks till the source of the falls. Even an enjoyable elephant ride through the forest can make this a memorable trip. The waterfall is breathtaking however in the monsoon, from June to September, one can view the wildness of the fall.
For reaching this spot one has to travel from Palolem on NH4 towards Margoa & then take a right turn at Balli to reach to Kepem . From Kepem travel to Sanvordem . from Sanvodrem to Kullem village . The total distance is 73 kms . It is a full day guided tour

Pandava's Drum

Pandava's drum is an unique natural wonder of Palolem. It is near Palolem, in the southern most corner Cancona or Chaudi. It's believed that Pandava brothers had visited this place. The cup shaped rock in commonly known as Padava's drum because if one throws a stone on a specific stone, it creates a drum like sound. Often tourists are seen here enjoying this drum. This spot is near very near to PGH on the southern most end & is at a walk able distance from PGH.

Figueiredo Mansion

The Figueiredo house is a splendid heritage home of Old Goa( In Loutolim) was built in 20th century by the family was considered as vintage building. Recently it's been open as a public museum and Maria de Lourdes Figueiredo de Albuquerque, is the part owner of this mansion facing vast green rice fields. Her portion is converted to a five-room hotel. This impressive house offers a collection of furniture and porcelain and narrates the story of the Indo- Portuguese history. The furniture, Christian iconography in the private chapel, chinese silk embroidered garments, porcelain and the imposing pair of Cuban royal palms is placed at the entrance of the house are still talking about the glorious era. This vintage home is at a distance of 46 kms from Palolem . One can proceed by Bus or Cab . After reaching Madgao you need to take road going to Ponda . The Vintage home is around 12 kms from Madgao in a village called "Loutolim".

Chapoli Dam

Chapali dam is situated in the westward from Sahyadris Mountains also known as Western Ghat. This dam is elegantly lies in the valley between the hills and it has all the ingredient to make you feel relaxed and preferred excursions spots among the tourists. It is considered to be ecological and famous for its natural beauty. Chapoli Dam is located 1 km from City of Chaudi and supplies drinking water. One can reach this spot by Bike , Rickshaw or even by walking for those who are curious about the locality . It can be reached in 15 minutes from the main market "Chavdi".

Contigao Wildlife Sanctuary

Cotigao Sanctuary is a multi layered forest with rare plants and tress where day light hardly reaches the ground makes it a must visit in Goa. The vegetation in the sanctuary is certainly moist and has huge evergreen patches. It is in Canacona Taluka, in the south of Goa. It lies at about 2 km from Poinguinim , which is 10 km away from Chaudi.
The Cotigao Sanctuary was established in 1969, is 86 sq-kms is ideal for tree lovers. The4 sighting of life such as tigers, leaopard, Gaziles, Sloth Bears, Porcupines Panthers and Hyenas rarely appear. One can reach this wildlife sanctuary by Bike , rickshaw or cab . It is 12 kms from Palolem & it near to the village by name Poiguinim .

Cabo De Rama

Cabo De Rama is an interesting piece of architecture in Goa. A long land that protrudes into the sea, has taken its name from god Rama from the Hindu epic 'Ramayana'. It is believed that Rama stayed with his wife Sita in their 12 years of exile.
However there is a historic dimension of this fort as well. This fort has seen the reign of Hindu, Muslim and lastly Portuguese ruler and various dreadful battles. Till 1955 it was converted to government prison. Currently this rickety structure with turrets and rusty cannon not only depicts the story of Portuguese rule in Goa but also a popular tourist destination. Now a it's a ruin but the dramatic atmosphere of this fort can be felt by every tourist. From this accommodation of Palolem, PGH one can easily hire a taxi to visit this place & it is 24 kms & it is almost 45 minutes drive to this place.

Largest Banyan Tree in Goa:

The largest banyan Tree of Goa is at the 'Gokarn Partagali Mutt' of Canacona in South Goa. This one of the ancient 'Vatavriksha' (Banyan tree) which is about 200ft. x 22 feet and is considered a Tapasya Kshetra for over a thousand years. Vatavriksha and the Ishwar linga in front of the math at Partagali are worshipped by the people. One can easily hire a taxi to visit this place & it is 19 kms from canacona & takes around 30 minutes drive from PGH.

Talpona River

Talpona river has been named after the Talpona Fort in Cancona. This 7 miles long river, originates in the dense mixed jungles of Ravan Dongor (Demon Hill) and comes down by passing Bhatpal. Talpona River is a location of exotic mangroves which are only seen in tropical region and one of the rare ecosystems of the world.
Now this meandering river is ready to give a different experience to its tourist. It provides back water tours where one can enjoy soothing and comforting rides in the backwaters of Goa. In fact the area is also identified as bird watching site. One can view birds like Brahmi kites, grey herons, robins, cattle egrets, owl etc very easily. From PGH you can easily hire a taxi to visit this which is 10 kms away from Palolem & will take around 20 minutes to drive.

Mallikarjun Temple, Shristhal

Shri Mallikarjun Temple is standing in the picturesque landscape surrounded by Blue Mountains and lush greenery. This temple in Palolem is 200 years old, as mentioned on a plaque near the temple dome. The temple is of Shri Mallikarjun, another incarnation of Lord Shiva and he is known as
Adavat Sinhansanadhiwar Mahapati Cancona among the locals. It's believed that Lord Shiva united with Goddess Parvati after their long separation. The temple was built in 16th century and renovated in 1778. This temple has, as many as 60 Hindu deities together.
The most interesting part of the temple is the architecture which is an assembly of carved wooden pillars inside the temple. There are six pillars in the inner sanctum of the temple which depicts scenes from Puranas and Mahabharata. Shri Mallikarjun Temple has two dwarpal (doorkeeper) guarding either side of the door leading to the inner sanctum, are examples of delicate wood carvings. Shri Mallikarjun Temple is famous among the Goans for hosting ritualistic festivals. It organizes annual jatra alongwith Rathasaptami and Shigmotsav which attract huge number of devotees. This famous Palolem temple is situated near a small village of Sristhal in southern most part of Cancona, is just 5 km from Chaudi. PGH is an ideal location to visit the temple as one can hire a taxi & its nearly 6 kms from Palolem.

Partagali Mutt Temple

Goa is commonly known for night life and beaches however very few know that it also has the oldest Vedic Learning Center in India. It is known as Partgali Mutt Temple and as Shri Gokarn Partgali Jeevittam situated about 90 kms from Panaji. The Mutt was established in 1475 and was located at Partagali Village on the banks of the sacred rivulet Kushavati.
The Gurus of this Mutt would travel to various places for preaching and propagating dharma and would extend spiritual help to the troubled disciples. The Mutt's god (main deity) is Lord Veervithal-Ramdev. The large Banyan Tress (Vatavrikrsha) is the symbolic representation of the spiritual movement and has been considered a Tapasya Kshetra for over a thousand years. Ramnavmi is a famous festival of the temple.
